What is Long Nose Rhinoplasty?
Generally, the nose looks long due to a long septum or drooping tip of the nose. A long nose visually lengthens the face and disturbs the
overall harmony.
Description of the procedure
A long nose can be transformed by enhancing the wing cartilage, trimming the cartilaginous septum, or a combination of both. Specialized surgeons will determine the most appropriate surgical method based on your individual needs.
Who is a candidate?
Recommended to those who:
- Have a drooping or elongated nasal tip
- Feel their nose appears too long in proportion to their face
- Have a nasal tip that points downward, especially when smiling
- Desire a more balanced and proportionate facial profile
Long Nose Rhinoplasty Surgical methods
Plastic surgery of the wings of the nose
A method in which the cartilage of the wing of the nose is lowered. Then it is fixed with the nasal septal cartilage using a thread. The wing cartilage is then rotated upward so that the tip of the nose rises forward.
Septoplasty
If the nasal tip cartilage is dropping down because the nasal septal cartilage is too long, the plastic surgeon will remove the lower part of the septal cartilage and reposition the nasal tip cartilage.
